DIPLOMA IN KENYA REGISTERED COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING (KRCHN)

Course duration: 3 years

Minimum entry requirements:

  • KCSE Mean Grade C (Plain)

  • Biology C (Plain)

  • English / Kiswahili C (Minus)

  • Mathematics / Chemistry / Physics C (Minus)

The curriculum is based on a syllabus approved by the nursing council of Kenya. It consists of theoretical block sessions, skills lab training, clinical and community placements, case studies and research project. All these are implemented in accordance with a Master Rotation Plan for the entire duration of training.

PERI-OPERATIVE THEATRE TECHNOLOGY LEVEL 6
(Diploma in Perioperative Theatre Technology)

Course duration: 2 years

Minimum entry requirements:

  • KCSE Mean Grade: C- (Minus)

  • Approved by the TVET Curriculum Development Assessment and Certification Authority (TVETCDACC)

This 2 year course provides the student with a variety of factual, technical, and procedural knowledge, skills, and attitude that will enable them to assist the theatre personnel with technical issues. It also equips the training with knowledge on prevention of nosocomial infections, ensuring the safety of patients and the theatre staff, providing clinical services in the operating room, and carrying out administrative and managerial duties in any hospital with an operation theatre.

Industrial attachment:

An individual enrolled in this course will be placed for an industrial attachment for a period of 3 months in a recognized hospital with an operation theatre.
